The Board

With passion and pride, the heart of our board

Our organization operates with two supporting foundation boards. The Tanzanian board is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center in Arusha, including management, policy, and implementation.

Martha Lukasi Materu reports to the board in her role as Executive Director.

The Dutch board focuses on fundraising and international support for activities in Tanzania.

Currently, some board members still hold roles on both boards. The plan is to transition these responsibilities gradually over the coming months, so that each board can carry out its duties with authority and efficiency.

All board members, both in the Netherlands and in Arusha, as well as the executive director, work for Sibusiso voluntarily and naturally with great dedication.

Our People

The team in Tanzania is incredibly dedicated to providing the best and most professional care possible for the children, offering them a secure and safe place in the center, and gaining the trust of parents during village visits.

We are a good employer for:

  • A team of 51 dedicated Tanzanians – therapists, teachers, social workers, carpenters, caregivers, and support staff.
  • A manager, Martha Lukasi, who leads the daily operations in Arusha.
