Sibusiso chooses inclusion and strong communities

We are proud of the Strategic Plan 2026-2030, which the management team developed in close consultation with the board of the Sibusiso Foundation in Arusha.

The Sibusiso Foundation Strategic Plan (2026–2030) marks an important new phase in Sibusiso’s work. The organization is shifting from a primarily center-based approach to a hybrid model in which high-quality rehabilitation care is combined with Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID) to strengthen and secure the long-term position of children and young people with developmental disabilities within the (local) community. This gives children and young people with developmental disabilities, along with their families and communities, a more active role.

In the coming five years, Sibusiso will strengthen the center as a knowledge and training hub and a facility that refers children to the appropriate form of care or support, while expanding inclusive rehabilitation services within the community. The focus of the Strategic Plan lies in ensuring equal rights, local collaboration, strengthening families, and breaking through stigma and exclusion. With this plan, Sibusiso aims to contribute to an inclusive society in which every child and young person can participate fully.
