Events

awareness activities

We organize awareness events, such as World Disability Day and Down Syndrome Day, sports days and meetings between parents, schools and local governments, to ensure that children with disabilities matter and belong.

Information about the program

At Sibusiso, everything revolves around knowledge transfer and information provision. Our team regularly organizes events around important themes such as Down Syndrome Day, Autism Day, Cerebral Palsy Day, Mental Health Day and World Disability Day. These days are not only intended to support families with children with disabilities, but also to inform other care providers, medical professionals and representatives of (local) governments about the themes and our approach.

Sports and play are essential for the children of the Sibusiso Center. That is why we regularly organize tournaments, competitions and celebrations. We also hold refresher days, where former participants return to the center for a day. The completion of programs is celebrated in grand style, with participants themselves playing an important role through songs or dances, for example.

We work toward a future for all children with disabilities. This is not just a theme, it is our daily commitment. For years, we have been supporting children with intellectual disabilities to live with dignity, confidence and independence. Through early intervention, family support, skills training and awareness raising, we have contributed to inclusive communities where every child can thrive. Every milestone we reach reminds us of the lives that have been changed and the path that still lies ahead of us. With a stronger focus on Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID), we are building a future in which all children and young people, with or without disabilities, are accepted, included and empowered to reach their full potential. We express this during the events we organize at the Sibusiso center grounds.
