RUAS Rotterdam students support Sibusiso

This post is also available in: Dutch German Swahili

At the end of September, Nova, Jade, Maartje, and Pepijn arrived in Arusha. These students from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences are supporting Sibusiso with research into effective fundraising. Over the course of three months, they are identifying opportunities to find financial donors within Tanzania and exploring how Sibusiso can reach more donors outside of the Netherlands. We are very pleased with their support. Indeed, the board has established in the multi-year plan that increasing fundraising within Tanzania is vital for our continuity. We wish Nova, Jade, Maartje, and Pepijn the best of luck with their research and look forward to the presentation of their results in January.

Sponsor the Sibusiso truck

For many families with a child with a disability, traveling to the center is either too difficult or too costly. This is why we reach out to the community with a mobile clinic. To carry out these activities, we need an additional truck. Will you join us?

A future full of possibilities for Venance

In 2019, at the age of 16, Venance began Sibusiso’s 6-Month Program. Through social skills training, vocational training, sports, and work experience, his self-confidence grew. Step by step, he developed new skills and became more independent. This continued until 2025, when Sibusiso offered Venance a job.

Creating new opportunities with 15 chickens

Kibo Poultry donates chickens to Sibusiso. For families, this allows them to start a small-scale poultry farm and work toward generating their own income.

The programs

In the center, carpenters and physiotherapists custom-make assistive devices such as wheelchairs and chairs, improving children’s therapy and mobility.
Sibusiso shares knowledge through theme days, sports, play and celebrations. Families, care providers and governments learn and celebrate together with the children.
Sibusiso shares 25 years of knowledge through a new knowledge center with training and education to increase understanding and acceptance of children with disabilities.
