Thirty young children and their mothers came to the Sibusiso center in mid-January for the three-month program. This means that they stay in the centre from Monday to Friday. During that period, they live in one of the three pavilions, eat together and go through a daily program that consists of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutritional advice and advice for the mother on how best to stimulate the child. The mothers also learn the best postures for feeding, sleeping and lifting, for example. The mothers and children are assisted in the program by therapists, teachers, social workers and caregivers. An additional advantage of the program is that the mothers can exchange their experiences.

On Thursday, March 28, we already waved goodbye to the first 3-month group of this year. This was celebrated with singing, dancing and good food. The mothers stay connected to each other – for example via whatsapp – so that the experiences at home are also shared. The staff also stay in touch with the children and their parents, and will visit the children at home if necessary through the Outreach Program.
