Successful Father's Day

Sibusiso regularly organizes parent events, and from the start an attempt has been made to involve fathers in the program because some fathers feel more involved than others. Fathers in Tanzania have a different role than European fathers who are often more involved in raising children.  Last July, 26 of the 30 fathers of children from the baby-toddler program were present.

Proud of results in 2022

Every month the board receives an extensive report of all activities and of course we have frequent consultations about the daily affairs in Arusha. But we are extremely proud to share some of the facts about 2022 with you. It gives a good impression of the scale and necessity of the work of the professional team in Tanzania. 

Angelreycious is a girl in the three month group, with spastic paralysis, caused by brain damage at birth. Her mother Margreth Charles likes to share her experiences. "In the period before Sibusiso I didn't know what to do with my mentally disabled child. I had no information and didn't know what to do.

At Sibusiso, we regularly see parents denying the seriousness of their child's situation. That is why it is important that we not only work with the children but also with parents and possibly grandparents." Barakaeli Mollel, social worker at Sibusiso, has the floor.

Persiana learns social skills from teacher Nelson As a teacher at Sibusiso, Nelson is responsible for the Social Skills Program. For him, Persiana Obadiah is one of his best practice examples. Upon entering eight years ago, Persiana was in a bad condition.
